Right now there is a 13 year-old Brazilian immigrant in ICE detention. He was arrested by local police in Everett, Massachusetts for allegedly carrying a knife to school and threatening another student. The police called his mother to come pick him up, and before she could do so, ICE took custody of him and transported him to a facility 500 miles way in Virginia.
The DHS statement claims the child has a long history of petty crimes and violence and also that in addition to the knife he had a firearm. As with most DHS statements of late, there is no evidence offered for their assertions, only a vague laundry list of wrongdoing and an implicit “trust us on this.”
This is also, incidentally, the basis of the administration’s modus operandi for their actions against Venezuelan boats in international waters — “trust us, they were violent drug cartel criminals and we’re keeping you safe by blowing their boats to kingdom come, stop asking about evidence you terrorist America-haters.”
Two days ago Politico released a report on nearly 3,000 pages of text messages between members of Young Republican groups nationwide, in which they openly and joyously used racist and other slurs, joked at length about their appreciation for Nazi ideology, and expressed several other thoughts about their hate for anyone who fell outside of their narrow view of what defines an American. Yesterday a legislative aide for an Ohio Republican representative was caught on camera with a decoration on his wall depicting the American flag with a swastika placed at its center.
In response to these reports, Vice President JD Vance — a man who spread vicious lies about Haitian immigrants during the presidential campaign and then admitted on air, without regret, that he was perpetuating a bald-faced lie — said that these men and women were making mistakes that should be forgiven, because young people sometimes misspeak or say things that are “edgy.”
The “Young Republicans” in question are between the ages of 20-40.
Six other people recently had their visas revoked for allegedly making insensitive comments about the murder of Charlie Kirk.
I don’t know how many other ways this regime has to show you who they are. They no longer bother with the effort it takes to craft a believable fiction because they face so few challenges to their lies from mainstream media, because their subdued majority of Congresscritters is only too happy to let them run roughshod over the populace to maintain their comfortable lifestyles, because so many of our fellow citizens cannot cope with the realization that they have been conned out of their own democracy.
