In those moments where I manage to float a few feet above myself, I notice an that I occasionally and unfortunately manifest a tendency to not fully experience people, but to simply observe and collect them, like the man who owns Amazing Fantasy #15, and keeps it in an airtight safe in an acid free Mylar sleeve in an underground bunker in an uncharted corner of the Yukon Territory…somebody who cannot tell you the cover character’s secret identity or how it was he even became Spider-Man.

And then I return to my body and realize that I have the same tendency with myself–that I will sometimes view the breadth of my life as a menagerie of experiences, not as a sum total of a human being.
