Miscellaneous Mental Musings of an Emerging Artist

Blind Man’s Eldritch.

Forgive me, for my mind is predisposed to metaphors and collage. And so as the hours pass and the information processes I first consider the parable of the blind men and the elephant, in which the men each mistake the pachyderm for something it is not because of the limits of their perception.

Then I consider the literary conventions of Lovecraft, one of the pioneers of the idea that a creature could exist so beyond our capacity to understand it that the mere incident of encountering it would cause your mind to shatter.

These concepts are the keystones of how I am trying to reconcile what we continue to learn about the world through the perversity of Jeffrey Epstein and the men who inhabited his concentric circles of influence. The scope of the depravity. The routine injections of megalomania into the veins of every institution on earth.

Because most days now I feel like one of the blind men, scanning some unimaginable cosmic horror with my fingertips, understanding on some level that I cannot fully grasp the shape of what it is I am touching and understanding on another level that if and when I do so I will never regain my sanity again. Even now, for what little I know, there are cracks in my consciousness that will likely never heal.

I perhaps may finally have a sense of what Nietzsche meant when he described the abyss staring also into you.

I do not imagine I’m the only one who feels this way, and I wish the rest of you well.
