Pack animals.
Thank you friends, and friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends, for your help in writing the next chapter of Cassie’s life. Earlier today we found her a brand new home with a great new pack, including two young boys who were over the moon to meet her and a 1-1/2 year-old male hound named Tugger, who looks so much like Cassie that it’s hard to believe they didn’t come from the same litter (Cassie is the one on the left in this photo).
Dana and I are going through many complicated feelings right now, but included in those feelings are hope and happiness. All we’ve ever wanted for this pup is for her to have a life much better than the one she began with, and we’re confident that her new family will be able to continue giving her that.
She was confused, of course, when we left, and anxious throughout the visit. But we know that as she adjusts to her new life she’ll realize that it’s just as good as the one we gave her.
Again, thanks to everybody for their efforts. I do feel, truly, that we’ve done the right thing for everybody.
