The “love circle” is one of the Neo-Futurists’ treasured pre-show rituals–we assign house management duties such as the ticket sales, we check in on any last-minute business, we often choose a person or concept or other random thing that we say we’re doing the show for. The group pictured here included an alumnus who had performed the very first show, alums who had performed during the show’s last month, a few who have worked to various degrees with the NY and SF Neos, four people who had been in charge of running the tech booth between the mid-1990s through the present day, a representative from the current active ensemble, and four children produced by the unions of three pairs of Neo-Futurists.
This is what 28 years of a theater’s history can look like, if you agree to let it be this.
